ifilm 2 to entertain Persian speakers globally

IRIB officially starts airing ifilm 2 for Persian-speaking nations.

Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) officially starts airing ifilm 2 channel for Persian-speaking nations.

The newly-launched channel airs a large number of Iranian movies and series across Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

ifilm 2 director Nasser Hejazifar said, “Having similarities in culture, civilization and history with Afghanistan, Tajikistan and other Persian-speaking nations in the Central Asian illustrates the necessity of launching the channel.”

He also noted that the difference in the Persian dialects being used in the region would not make it difficult for the nations to understand the language of films and series.

The 24-hour channel has been commenced with the motto “A Friend of Families.”

Earlier in September 2010, IRIB launched ifilm Arabic and Persian channels and later added a ifilm English.
